Out-of-state tags expire 30 days after you move to Georgia, regardless of the dates shown on the tag. Only two exceptions: non-resident military members and full-time college students.
(If you are planning a trip to the tag office, our busiest days are Mondays and Fridays. Also avoid the first and last workday of the month.)

All offices open at 8:30 a.m. and close to walk-in customers at 4:45 p.m. Arrive before 4:45 p.m. to be assured of service. The three satellite tag offices close for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They close to walk-in traffic at 11:15 a.m. Arrive before 11:15 a.m. to be assured of service. The main tag office does not close for lunch.

Voter's Registration
You have to be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old to vote in any city, county, state or federal elections. You must be registered 30 days prior to an election to vote in that election. Please call the Cobb County Voter Information Line 770-528-2300 or visit the local office at 47 Waddell St. Marietta.

You may also register to vote in any one of the local Cobb County Library branches (see Libraries for all locations and hours of operation), or at the driver's license bureau.

New residents should obtain a Georgia's driver's license within 30 days of establishing residency. With a valid out-of-state driver's license you only have to take an eye exam and have legal documentation of name and your date of birth. A four-year license costs $15. The office accepts cash only payments.

Cobb County residents are encouraged to recycle. Many of the municipalities offer curbside pick up of recyclable for city residents. Residents of unincorporated Cobb County need to contract with their garbage haulers for curbside recycling.
