Cobb County’s largest Easter egg hunt continues to grow.
Approximately 3,500 people attended the event last year at Jim R. Miller Park, according to Recreation Programmer Nancy Bynum. She expects more than 4,000 this year.
“This is a great outreach to the community, and it’s free,” she said, adding that she looks forward to the event each year.
The Saturday, March 26, hunt will feature children’s art activities, live music by local talent, carnival rides, a petting zoo, concessions, visits with the Easter Bunny and a Mad Hatter Contest (best decorated hat). Special eggs will be hidden in the field that kids can redeem for prize bags, Bynum said.
“We’ve made sure everything is kid-focused,” Bynum said.
For example, Mayfield Dairy will provide free ice cream, and vendors from all over the metro area will give away kid-friendly prizes.
In addition, Cobb Public Safety is pitching in to entertain and educate the children. Kids will be able to learn about fire safety, see how a bomb robot works and get to know some K-9 police dogs.
Admission and parking are free, but don’t forget to bring your own baskets. For more information, call (770) 528-8875. The park is located at 2245 Callaway Road in Marietta.
